Jennifer B. Kahnweiler

Jennifer B. Kahnweiler, Ph.D., is President of AboutYOU, Inc. a consulting firm that delivers high impact speaking, training and consulting programs designed to maximize career success. She is also a writer and sought after media expert on workplace issues. Her consulting has spanned many industries and fields and Dr. Kahnweiler has particular expertise in career development, women’s leadership and human resources.

She has served in HR leadership positions at GE and the U.S. Dept. of Education and most recently has partnered with The American Management Association, Capital One, Turner Broadcasting, The Department of Homeland Security, the Coca-Cola Company and Duke Energy. In 2006 she delivered highly successful leadership training to female managers in Japan.

As Vice President of Manchester, an international human resources consulting firm, Dr. Kahnweiler delivered and marketed programs to senior executives. Earlier in her career, she directed the career center at the University of Cincinnati. She also built a business by helping both the Procter and Gamble company and Chiquita Brands to successfully recruit and retain dual career couples in their headquarters locations.

Dr. Kahnweiler is co-author of a well received book for HR professionals, Shaping Your HR Role: Succeeding in Today’s Organizations (Elsevier, 2005). She also writes The Advisor column for AARP The Magazine, the Ask the Expert column for SHRM and blog entries for ajcjobs.com. Last year, Jennifer was a makeover expert on the WTBS television show, Movie and a Makeover, where she successfully advised a women transitioning back to the workforce. She is also frequently quoted in The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Dr. Kahnweiler earned her Ph.D. in Counseling and Human systems from Florida State University. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling and Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Washington University, St. Louis. Additionally, she holds Master Career Counselor (MCC), National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certifications, and has served on the boards of the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and The Georgia Executive Women’s Network. She was awarded the Outstanding Career Practitioner of the Year by NCDA in 2005 and has been deemed a “world class expert” by the American Management Association.
