Savannah is site for annual GLN education conference

The 2004 Georgia League for Nursing Annual Education Conference will be Feb. 19-20 in Savannah at the DeSoto Hilton. The theme for this year's program is "Exploring New Horizons in Nursing Education and Practice."

The conference is designed to focus on the challenges faced by nurse educators.

The keynote speaker will be Toni Bargagliotti, DNSc, RN, dean and professor from the Loewenberg School of Nursing at The University of Memphis. Her topic will be "Navigating Nursing Education and Practice Through Perfect Storms."

John Lantz, RN, Ph.D., dean and professor at the University of San Francisco School of Nursing, will lead several sessions on academic integrity.

Mary Jo Goolsby, Ed.D., MSN, APRN-C, ANP, director of Education and Research, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, will speak on evaluating students and employees in the clinical nursing settings.
