The WellStar Cancer Program's second annual cancer symposium, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta. The event, which will focus on advances in diagnostics and cancer management, was developed as a continuing education opportunity for those in the medical field, including physicians, nurses, advanced practitioners and other allied health professionals. Topics will include vaccines for the prevention of cervical cancer and innovations in radiation therapy. The symposium, which is free for all attendees, includes breakfast and lunch. "Stroke 101: Improving Outcomes," the annual Virginia Lee Franklin Conference in Neurology, will meet at the Atlanta History Center in Atlanta. The event, sponsored by the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, Emory Healthcare and Emory's Wesley Woods Geriatric Hospital, is approved for 5.2 contact hours. The cost to attend the conference is $40 for early registration (before Feb. 21), $50 after Feb. 21, $60 at the door (space permitting), $30 for Emory, Wesley Woods and neurology faculty and staff, and $15 for students.
