Sept. 6-7

A Certification in Critical Care Nursing exam review, sponsored by St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta, will be at the hospital's auditorium and in the Carroll Education Center classrooms. The fifth annual conference, sponsored by United Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Central Georgia, will be at the Anderson/Goodwill Conference Center in Macon, across from Macon State College. The Atlanta chapter of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants will meet from noon to 1:30 p.m. in Room 2311 at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. "Medical-Surgical Nursing Review for Practice Enhancement and Certification" will be at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. "An Evidence-Based Practice Toolkit for Bedside Nurses," a nursing research conference, is jointly sponsored by WellStar Health System, Emory Healthcare and St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. The event will be held at the WellStar Development Center in Atlanta from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Conference keynote speakers will be nurse researchers and authors Bernadette Melnyk and Tim Porter-O'Grady. The conference will engage direct-care nurses as well as nurse administrators, nurse managers, clinical nurse specialists, nurse educators and nurse researchers who are interested in conducting research and embracing evidence-based practice in clinical health care environments. The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses is hosting a leadership advancement conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Atlanta. The conference will offer learning and networking that focus on communication and leadership skills for health care professionals. "Nursing Update: Living With HIV," a conference hosted by the Northwest Metro Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Nurses Association, will be at Kennesaw State University from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The conference will provide an update on the care and treatment of people living with HIV. Topics will include epidemiology, nursing care and legislative issues. There will be a panel discussion with people living with HIV.
