Michelle Halpin, Jacksonville State University College of Nursing
Nomination: Michelle Halpin is a RN and has dedicated her professional career to the art of caring for others for 13 years.
Michelle spent 11 years prior to her present faculty position as an Emergency Room nurse where she spent countless and selfless hours of caring, saving lives, and team work.
Michelle loves nursing and believes and practices her philosophy that nursing starts with compassion and compassion comes from the heart.
Michelle received her BSN in 1993 and completed her MSN in 2001.
She worked full time 2nd and 3rd shift while she was enrolled full time in her Master's program.
She has always been dedicated to improving the science and practice of nursing through greater education.
Michelle presently teaches nursing at Jacksonville State University where she believes the greatest contribution to helping her community comes from preparing quality and competent nurses to care for others in a professional role.
Michelle presently is working on her PhD and her dissertation concentration is studying the impact of mandatory newborn cystic fibrosis screening and how this will impact patient outcomes regarding nutritional status.
I nominated Michelle Halpin because I believe she is an excellent Registered Nurse and has dedicated countless and selfless hours to nursing without any hesitation.
Michelle is the best nurse for this award.
