Melissa Carter, Q100-Bert Show Cast Member
Melissa Carter is Co-Host of The Bert Show on All The Hits Q100 radio in Atlanta. She is also Co-Host of Twist radio, a nationally-syndicated show that is broadcast in 14 major cities, including New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and Las Vegas.
Having received a life-saving kidney transplant in 2002, Melissa also participates in the U.S. Transplant Games, an Olympic-style event where all the athletes are organ transplant recipients.
Melissa has served as Grand Marshal in both Atlanta's Gay Pride Parade and in Provincetown's Carnival Parade, has been honored as Best Radio DJ by Atlanta's Creative Loafing two years in a row, and has appeared as a guest performer in Atlanta productions of The Vagina Monologues, Shear Madness, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
Through her experience with kidney disease and her kidney transplant, Melissa realized that is was the nurses who received the brunt of her anger, wiped her tears, and held her up when she felt both physically and emotionally weak. Nurses are the unsung heroes at the frontline of healthcare, and she is honored to help honor them.
